Disruptive Innovation Festival: Going Beyond the ‘Idea’ Stage

Live Stream Available here on November 14, 2017 at 10:00am ET/3pm GMT

More than anything else, good ideas need money to help them blossom. If a project has been designed with positive social and environmental outcomes at its heart, how do the people behind it attract the right level of investment

What’s more, social, environmental and economic issues are complex, and it’s difficult to know whether an action will have the intended effect. This makes it difficult for investors to identify the most relevant acupuncture point.

One of the guests in this live studio show – William Burckart (the President of TIIP) – is an impact investor who understands that people in his role need to take a systems perspective on any investment opportunity in order to maximise a project’s potential as well as generate economic returns for his clients. Bill will be joined by Erika Boeing, an engineer/entrepreneur who worked on Project Drawdown and has an exciting renewable energy project in development. She will come at the investment question from the perspective of an entrepreneur who wants to make a positive difference in the world.

The event will take place online on November 14, 2017 at 10:00am ET/3pm GMT. Check out the live stream here on pitch in with your own thoughts and opinions throughout: https://www.thinkdif.co/sessions/going-beyond-the-idea-stage
